What it is
The Matriarch's Map reads your birthday as a card. Every birthday belongs to one of the 52 cards in a deck, and December 31 to the Joker. From your Birth Card, the app maps your year in seven seasons of 52 days each, and how you meet the people you add. It comes from the ancient teachings of Atlantis, recently rediscovered. Readings are for reflection and entertainment, not fortune-telling.
Who it's for
- 13 and older. Anyone 13 or older can use the app. Teens need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Dianne is for adults. Her readings, the Reading Room and her journal reflections are for people 18 and older, and so are plans. For anyone under 18, the app sends nothing to Anthropic.
- Your age comes from your app store where it can tell the app, and otherwise from one question, "Are you 18 or older?", which you can change in Account. Your birthday is never used to decide your age.
Your plan
Plans are bought through the App Store or Google Play, so that's where you change or cancel one.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Android: the Play Store → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Deleting the app doesn't cancel a plan. After you cancel, your plan lasts until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules: ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google from your order history in the Play Store.
A new phone? Sign in with the same Apple or Google account, then choose Restore purchases on the app's plans page. Your journal, your people and what Dianne remembers come along if you set up the new phone from your iCloud or Google backup. You can also save a copy of your journal from Account → Journal settings.
Dianne
Dianne is an SI (AI), reading from your cards. Her answers come with a plan: Inner Circle gives you 5 questions a day, and Confidante many more, from a weekly allowance.
- Out of questions? Dianne tells you when you can ask again. On Inner Circle the count starts over at midnight, US Central time, and a reflection on a journal page counts as one of your 5. On Confidante, whatever you use comes back seven days later.
- What she remembers is under Account → What Dianne remembers. You can read all of it, delete any one thing, or choose Forget everything.
- To switch her off, turn off Let Dianne answer in Account. While she is off, the app sends nothing to Anthropic, the company whose models write her replies.
- To report a reply that seems offensive, harmful or wrong, use Report on it. We review reports to improve her safeguards.
Your information
Most of what you enter, your birthday, your people and your journal, stays on your phone, and in its iCloud or Google backup if that's turned on. The Privacy Policy explains what leaves it when you ask Dianne, and what our server keeps. To delete your account and everything the app keeps, see Delete your account.
